An iconic 31,100 square-foot former whiskey distillery in the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh has been fully reimagined as modern, luxury residences, dubbed Whiskey Barrel Flats.
The building’s distinctive brick and timber construction gives it a unique historical presence along the redeveloped banks of Pittsburgh’s three rivers. Everything about the complex has been carefully considered with comfort in mind, from the industrial-style balconies to the exposed brick-and-timber interiors.
Enter Elias/Savion.
Whiskey Barrel Flats chose the Agency to create the full scope of its brand to mirror its impressive industrial scale and its understated architecture.
Each residence in the building is infused with an industrial aesthetic and modern luxury that reflects the grand scale and historic heritage of the distillery. Elias/Savion structured the brand’s entire identity, its website and its brochure based on this aesthetic, bringing a sense of warm industrial modernism through rich tones, rustic fonts and inviting imagery infused with—what else—whiskey.
The Agency also delivered a tagline that balanced the building’s history with its now-modern amenities: “The spirit of fine living.”
The brand’s launch was met with great applause, with an explosion of media coverage and a crowd full of prospective buyers at the Whiskey Barrel Flats launch at the apt venue, Butcher and the Rye.
